Samsung Galaxy A22
Samsung has launched its latest 5G-enabled mobile phone, the Galaxy A22 5G. It's fair to say that this phone is one of the cheapest 5G smartphones on the market. The new Samsung smartphone is equipped with a 6.6-inch screen, 5000 mAh battery, three-sensor rear camera setup, and Dimensity 700 SoC. In addition to the A22 5G, the company also introduced a smartphone version without 5G. However, in terms of specs, the two phones are completely different.
1. Design and display
The smartphones have typical A-series aesthetics, all with a matte finish. The 5G model comes with a three-sensor camera setup, while the 4G model comes with a four-sensor imaging system. The 5G model is built around a 6.6-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 1080p + and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. In turn, its brother is equipped with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 720p +. and a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
2. Internal memory and storage
The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G is compatible with a Dimensity 700 SoC with 4GB, 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of expandable internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy A22 LTE runs on the older Helio G80 chipset and offers similar onboard memory options, but RAM options are limited to 4GB and 6GB. Also, the latter does not provide any storage expansion - the software interface supports One UI Core 3.1 on Android 11.
3. Camera
The 5G camera models come with a three-sensor camera setup, including a 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide module, and a 2MP depth sensor. The 8MP selfie camera sits in a V-shaped cutout on the front. The LTE version is equipped with a quad-sensor camera with a 48 MP OIS sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide array, a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor on the main module. The selfie camera is a shooter with a 13MP sensor.
4. Battery and price
Both phones have 5000 mAh batteries and both support 15 W fast charging. The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G will be available in some regions from July, and the price of the base model is 230 euros. Pricing details for the LTE model remain confidential.
