Whatsapp will introduce the voice and video calling feature to the pc version of the messaging app in 2021, a company spokesperson told Reuters.
The move to facilitate largescreen calling would put Whatsapp on par with the bigwigs of video conferencing Zoom and Google Meet, but it's unclear whether it has the ambition to compete with the two in the enterprise space.
With more than (2) billion users worldwide, Whatsapp ranks second after the eponymous app from its parent company Facebook Inc, yet it is primarily used for personal calls, unlike Zoom or Google Meet.

Last week, Zoom Video Communications said it was removing the 40-minute time limit for its free accounts at all meetings globally during the holiday season.
In a similar move, Google Meet has said that free users wouldn't have to limit conversations to 60 minutes until March.
